I would like to comment on the Idaho Power proposed residential rate increase. The
company states that this increase is to pay for the expenses incurred because of growth in
residential customer base.
I strongly feel that growth should pay for itself, and these new customers should bear the
entire cost of the new facilities. I live in an old neighborhood, and so my electricity
supply has already been paid for over the past 80 years. Why should my rates increase
because people are furiously building houses elsewhere in the Treasure Valley?
