BEFORE THE IDAHO PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMISSION
IN THE MATTER OF THE APPLICATION
OF IDAHO POWER COMPANY FOR
AUTHORITY TO INCREASE ITS RATES
AND CHARGES FOR ELECTRIC
SERVICE TO ELECTRIC CUSTOMERS
IN THE STATE OF IDAHO
) CASE NO. IPC-07-
) JOINT MOTION TO EXTEND
) PROCEDURAL SCHEDULE
COMES NOW Idaho Power Company (hereinafter referred to as "Idaho Power
or "the Company ), and the Staff of the Idaho Public Utilities Commission ("Staff") and
pursuant to RP 56 moves the Commission for an Order extending the schedule for
processing this case. In support of this Motion, Idaho Power and the Staff respectfully
state as follows:
JOINT MOTION TO EXTEND PROCEDURAL SCHEDULE, Page
On June 8, 2007 , Idaho Power filed an Application for authority to increase
its rates and charges for electric service in the state of Idaho. The Company requested
the proposed rate increase become effective on July 8, 2007. In Order No. 30346 the
Commission suspended Idaho Power s proposed effective date in accordance with the
provisions of Idaho Code ~ 61-622. In Order No. 30346 issued on June 25 , 2007 the
Commission suspended the proposed rates for a period of thirty (30) days plus five
months from July 8 , 2007, or until such time as the Commission enters an Order
accepting, rejecting or modifying the request in this proceeding.
On August 8, 2007 the Commission issued a Notice of Scheduling and
Notice of Hearing which established deadlines for pre-filing testimony and exhibits , filing
discovery requests and set the date for a technical hearing on the Company
Application to commence on Monday, December 10, 2007 and continuing if necessary
on December 11-13, 2007.
Based on preliminary discussions, Idaho Power and the Commission Staff
have concluded that it would be beneficial and in the public interest to extend the
schedule in this proceeding to allow the Company to provide the other parties with
additional information to more fully develop positions and to facilitate settlement
discussions between the parties. Recognizing that extending the schedule would pose
a problem with the maximum suspension period set out in Idaho Code ~ 61-622, Idaho
Power has agreed to waive the maximum suspension period. Attachment 1 to this
Motion is a Stipulation in which the Company agrees to waive the statutory maximum
suspension period set out in Idaho Code ~ 61-622.
JOINT MOTION TO EXTEND PROCEDURAL SCHEDULE, Page 2
Idaho Power and Staff have consulted with the other parties to the
proceeding and all of the parties have agreed on a new procedural schedule for
processing this case. This new schedule is as follows:
October 24, 2007 Settlement Meeting
December 10 , 2007 Staff and intervenors file direct testimony
January 4, 2008 Rebuttal testimony filed
January 22-25, 2008 Technical Hearing
All the parties to the proceeding have advised Staff and Idaho Power that
they do not object to this extension in the schedule and they have agreed to the new
procedural schedule described in paragraph 4 above.
Based on the foregoing, Idaho Power and the Commission Staff
respectfully request that the Commission enter its order finding that the public interest
would be served by adopting the new procedural schedule proposed by the parties.
Respectfully submitted this y of October, 2007.

Attorney for Idaho Power Company

IDAHO POWER'S STIPULATION
WAIVING THE STATUTORY
SUSPENSION PERIOD
Idaho Power has concluded that it would be beneficial if the procedural
schedule for processing this case was extended. Therefore, Idaho Power agrees to
waive the maximum suspension period under Idaho Code ~ 61-622 to allow the
Commission additional time to take evidence and render a decision in this proceeding.
It is Idaho Power s belief that this Stipulation is in the public interest and
should be accepted by the Commission.
