Idaho Power seeks approval of agreement with Avimor
The Idaho Public Utilities Commission will take comments through Nov. 22 on a proposal by Idaho Power Co. to enter into an agreement with Avimor, LLC for the construction of transmission and substation facilities for a residential subdivision north of Boise.
Avimor’s planned subdivision is in an area where Idaho Power does not have adequate facilities to accommodate the project. The agreement requires Avimor to pay Idaho Power $4.3 million in three installments, the first of which has been paid.
The agreement provides that Idaho Power will own, operate and maintain the facilities after they are built. Avimor will be eligible to receive refunds from Idaho Power as customers are hooked up to the system up until whichever occurs first: 1) 685 permanent residential services have been connected, 2) the metered demand at the project’s delivery point meets or exceeds 6,850 kilowatts, or 3) a period of 10 years has passed.
The commission will proceed under a modified procedure that allows the case to be handled through written public comments rather than by public hearing. Those wishing to submit comments must do so by no later than Nov. 22. Comments are accepted via e-mail by accessing the commission’s homepage at
http://www.puc.idaho.gov/www.puc.idaho.gov and clicking on "Comments & Questions." Fill in the case number (IPC-E-06-23) and enter your comments. Comments can also be mailed to P.O. Box 83720, Boise, ID 83720-0074 or faxed to (208) 334-3762.
