IPC-O5- NOTICE OF PUBLIC WORKSHOPS NOTICE OF TECHNICAL HEARING NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARINGS ORDER NO. 29957 On October 28 , 2005, Idaho Power Company filed an Application seeking authority to increase its electric rates for all customers an average of 7.8%. If approved, the Company revenues would increase $43 947 847 annually. The Company has requested that new rates become effective on June 1 , 2006. Idaho Power serves about 450 000 customers in southern Idaho and eastern Oregon. On November 22, 2005, the Commission issued its Notice of Application and a deadline for intervention. Order No. 29919. The initial Notice of Parties was issued on December 21 2005. Order No. 29919 also provided that after the Notice of Parties was issued the parties were to meet informally to devise a recommended schedule to process this case. THE PREHEARING CONFERENCE On January 5 , 2006, the parties convened a telephonic scheduling conference. The following parties participated in the conference: Idaho Power, Commission Staff, Idaho Irrigation Pumpers Association, Industrial Customers of Idaho Power, Micron Technology, the S. Department of Energy, Northwest Energy Coalition, and Kroger Company. The parties participating in the scheduling conference agreed upon a proposed schedule and recommended that the Commission set the technical hearing for the week of April 24, 2006. After reviewing the proposed schedule, the Commission found that holding the technical hearing the week of April 24 did not provide sufficient time to review the record, deliberate, and issue an Order. The NOTICE OF PUBLIC WORKSHOPS NOTICE OF TECHNICAL HEARING NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARINGS ORDER NO. 29957 Commission suggested that the technical hearing be held the week of April 10 and the parties agreed. Based upon the agreement of the parties, the Commission adopts the proposed schedule with modifications as set out in greater detail below. An original and eight (8) copies of pre filed testimony and exhibits shall be filed with the Commission Secretary. The e-mail addresses for the parties are contained in the separate Amended Notice of Parties issued January 18 2006. NOTICE OF STAFF PUBLIC WORKSHOPS YOU ARE HEREBY NOTIFIED that the Commission Staff will hold a series of public workshops for Idaho Power customers. The purpose for the public workshops is to provide customers with an overview of the Company s rate case Application and dispense information. At the workshops, customers will have an opportunity to ask questions of the Staff regarding the Company s rate case. Representatives of Idaho Power may also be available. The Staff will hold its first public workshop on MONDAY. JANUARY 23. 2006 AT 7:00 P.M. AT THE POCATELLO CITY HALL. 911 NORTH SEVENTH STREET. POCATELLO. IDAHO. YOU ARE FURTHER NOTIFIED that the Commission Staff will hold a third public workshop for Idaho Power customers on WEDNESDAY. FEBRUARY 1.2006 AT 7:00 P. IN THE CITY COUNCIL CHAMBERS. 305 THIRD AVENUE EAST. TWIN FALLS. IDAHO. YOU ARE FURTHER NOTIFIED that the Application and supporting workpapers testimonies and exhibits have been filed with the Commission and are available for public inspection during regular business hours at the Commission offices. The Application and supporting documents are also available on the Commission s Website at www.puc.idaho.gov under the "File Room" icon and then "Electric Cases. NOTICE OF TECHNICAL HEARING YOU ARE FURTHER NOTIFIED that the Commission will convene a technical hearing in this matter at 9:30 A.M. MONDAY. APRIL 10. 2006 IN THE COMMISSION' HEARING ROOM. 472 WEST WASHINGTON STREET. BOISE. IDAHO (208) 334-0300 and continuing during the remainder of the week. Parties intending to present testimony and exhibits shall do so at the technical hearing. YOU ARE FURTHER NOTIFIED that the prepared testimony and exhibits shall conform to the requirements of Rules 231 , 266, and 267 of the Commission s Rules of Procedure, IDAPA 31.01.01.231 , 266, 267. The parties' assigned exhibit numbers are set out in the separate Amended Notice of Parties.
