RE:IDAHO POWER COMPANY’S TARIFF 101 REVISION TO RULE C -
SERVICE AND LIMITATIONS
On May 28,2015,Idaho Power Company filed modifications to Tariff No.101.The
tariff revision modifies the “Limitation of Use”provision of Rule C to comply with Section
61-119 of the amended Idaho Code.
Currently,only electric utilities can legally sell electricity.Idaho House Bill No.185
provides for an exception to a defined term where electricity is purchased to charge batteries of
electric motor vehicles.This bill allows non-electric utility companies to sell electricity for
charging electric cars and supports the development of car-charging businesses.
Idaho House Bill No.185 was signed by the Governor on April 2,2015 and the amended
Section 61-119 will become effective July 1,2015.Idaho Power Company has requested that
the revised Schedule modifying the “Limitation of Use”provision of Rule C be approved prior to
the July 1,2015 effective date.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff has reviewed the Company’s revised Schedule and finds it is in compliance with the
amended Section 61-119.Staff recommends the Schedule be approved with an effective date of
July 1,2015.
