I read the April 2005 Electricity Rate info pamphlet sent to me this week. I am responding
as it suggested because I feel the rates are unreasonable in Idaho. The text is full of
inuendos and facts that are debatable. I moved here from NYS, lived in 2 states previous
to that, and there I paid the same for a large home, that I pay in Idaho for a 1 bedroomapartment (condo)! I thought my first bill was a mistake! I am use-conservative, but it is
outrageously high. I don t accept the fact the history is the same. I also pay for gas,water, sewer, etc. I moved from Avenue H in December to this place (after 4 months) and
was also charged another setup fee ? TOTALLY RIDICULOUS, especially since I have always
been an excellent ontime paying customer. Guess this does not count for much in Idaho
though.
Why can t Idaho Power offer a benefit for over 55 seniors like some utili ties do? I
applied in November 2004 for a benefit but they gave it to me on the gas and said it was
not applicable to the electricity. WHY NOT????????? Let's make this a change please! I
neeed help paying this electric bill and gas both!Thank you.

RE: Notice from Idaho Power re Rate Increases
To Whom It May Concern:
I am living on a small social security check and a part-time job that does not
pay much in salary. Everything keeps going up except my income. It is very
difficult for a lot of us "senior" citizens to keep afloat (especially those of us who
still have a mortgage we re paying on).
Between the utility companies continuing to raise their rates, the cost of gasoline
etc., a lot of seniors have to make serious choices about "will I have enough left
to buy groceries after I pay my electric and gas bills, etc.
Please consider giving us seniors some kind of break in these matters. It is very
hard for many of us when everything keeps going up except our income.
