It is my understanding you will be
considering a rate increase for Idaho
Power due to the Bennett Mountain Power
Plant and federal income tax expense.
There are so many people employed facing
higher property taxes, interest rates and
cost of living expense and on top of that
retired people on fixed incomes facing the
same matters, it is difficult for me to see
how you should consider extending a
increase like this to the consumer. Idaho
Power stock holders should be paying
their own tax increase. The farmers should
be doing their irrigating at the time of day
when evaporation isn t so high and a
further look at wind power would be more
environmentally friendly than a power
plant to further contaminate our state.
There is enough wind along the Snake
River there could be windmills to produce
the power needed for the farmers.
Hopefully my thoughts will be considered
at the time of your vote.
