POWER COMPANY'S COST OF SERVICE STUDY. CASE NO. IPC-O4-
ORDER NO. 29744
In Idaho Power Company s 2004 rate case Order No. 29505 , the Commission noted
that several parties raised legitimate questions concerning components of the Company s cost-of-
service study. Consequently, the Commission in October 2004 initiated the current proceeding
to allow interested parties to informally examine several issues related to the Company s cost-of-
service. The Commission directed the interested parties meet informally in public workshops to
discuss their concerns and to submit a "final report" to the Commission no later than
February 28, 2005. On February 28 , the Commission Staff on behalf of all the parties
participating in the informal workshops filed a Joint Motion for Extension of Time.
THE JOINT MOTION
In the Motion, the Staff noted the parties had conducted three workshops, the most
recent of which was held on February 25, 2005. Although information provided at the
workshops has raised the level of understanding about Idaho Power s cost-of-service
, "
the
parties are not (yet) in a position to assemble a final report.Joint Motion at 2. The Motion
requested that the Commission extend the due date for the final report until April 29, 2005. The
extension will provide sufficient time for the parties to determine whether consensus is possible
regarding certain cost-of-service issues and to draft a final report.
FINDINGS
Based upon our review of the Motion, we find that there is good cause to grant the
requested extension. The due date for the final report shall be extended until April 29, 2005.
ORDER
IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that the Joint Motion submitted by the Commission
Staff on behalf of the parties participating in this proceeding is granted. The parties are directed
to file their final report no later than April 29, 2005.
