Reconsideration hearing set for Sept. Boise - The Idaho Public Utilities Commission will take up Idaho Power s request for reconsideration of part of the commission s May 25 order that granted the company an average 2 percent increase in rates effective June Idaho Power is asking for reconsideration of part of the order that denied the company the authority to collect $11.5 million from ratepayers as part of the company s income tax expense. The commission s May order granted the company authority to collect an additional $25.3 million in annual revenue to cover increased costs of providing service. In June, the company asked for reconsideration of a number of issues, with the commission agreeing to add $2. million to the company s annual revenue requirement and to take new evidence on the $11. million tax expense issue. The company originally sought a $70 million rate increase, which would have raised customer rates an average 1 7.7 percent. The hearing on reconsideration is scheduled for Sept. 10 at 9:30 a.m. in the commission hearing room, 472 W. Washington St. in Boise. Regulated utilities seeking to appeal a commission order issue must first petition the commission for reconsideration.
