Complaint description: I just received a "Notice of application to increase rates " from
Idaho Power. I understand that electricity rates are driven by a number of factors and
that they must be adjusted from time to time.
However , I find it reprehensible and totally unacceptable that residential customers arethrough the higher rates they pay, subsidizing large businesses. There can be no excuse
for allowing these large profit making businesses to pay rates substantially below that
paid by the general public. If "large commercial , industrial , and irrigation " rates were
fair and equal the public would not be bearing an unreasonable burden for the cost of
power. I therefore must respectfully request that you correct this travesty by directing
Idaho Power to charge all customers one rate.

Comment description: I want to go on record of strongly opposing the 18% base rate hike
being sumitted to the commission. This rate hike is unjustified and unnessecary. Idaho
Power should have been tracking their base rates over the past ten years and if needed , a
small increase spaced over these past few years would probably be more acceptable. I urge
the commission to review this case very carefully and if any base rate hike is granted
only a 5% rate would be acceptable. I also am obj ecting to Id Power I s advertising, they
are a monopoly, it should be illegal for them to advertise!
