Re:Issuance of Final Order In Case No. IPC-03-
Idaho Power Company s General Rate Case
Dear Commissioners:
Idaho Power and the Commission Staff have been discussing the possibility of
continuing the suspension of the rate schedules filed by the Company in this case. The
Company filed its rate schedules on October 16, 2003, and , in accordance with Idaho Code 9
61-622, without a further suspension , the rate schedules as filed would go into effect on or
about May 16, 2004. There are several reasons why the Company would be willing to
consent to an extension. First, Commission Staff has requested an extension to allow Staff
and the Commission additional time to prepare the final order in this case. Second, the
Company has requested in its annual power cost adjustment filing that the PCA rates be
adjusted effective June 1 , 2004. If the Commission s final order in this case is issued on or
before May 25, 2004, the Company would then have sufficient time to prepare the revised
rate schedules resulting from the final order in this case and make a single adjustment in
rates effective on June 1 , 2004.
For these reasons, in accordance with the provisions of Idaho Code 9 61-622
Idaho Power hereby advises the Commission that Idaho Power is willing to consent to a
further suspension of the rate schedules filed by the Company in this case until May 25
2004.
