Gale Vice President, Regulatory Affairs Idaho Power Company PO Box 70 Boise, ill 83707-0070 RE:Sale of Idaho Power s Surplus Buildings , Case No. IPC-O3- Dear Ric In your letter dated March 14, 2003 , you advised the Idaho Public Utilities Commission that Idaho Power Company was in the process of disposing of three buildings no longer used in utility operations: the Homedale Operation Center; the Cambridge Operation Center; and the Homedale office building. You suggested that the sale of these buildings does not require Commission approval per Idaho Code ~ 61-328. This reply is in response to your letter. Because these buildings are no longer used for utility operations, the Commission approves of the Company s intent to dispose of these buildings. Please keep the Staff informed of their status. The rate base treatment for these properties should be addressed in the Company s rate case, No. IPC-03-13. The regulatory treatment for the sale of the buildings should be determined at the time of the sale or other final disposition. The Commission appreciates being informed when buildings or other major facilities are no longer in use. :;; Donald L.
