RE: Barnett Accident
Dear Scott:
The Commission Secretary has asked me to respond to your June 26, 1996, letter concerning the Chris Barnett accident. Pursuant to our telephone conversation of Tuesday, the Commission has determined that it will not conduct a further investigation of this matter.
Your letter also requests that the Commission provide you with all applicable rules and regulations regarding Idaho Power operations and the safety of the public. I have enclosed for your review the Commission’s Safety and Accident Report Rules applicable to utilities, IDAPA 31.11.01.000 et seq. In particular, Rule 101 requires electrical utilities to abide by applicable provisions of the National Electric Safety Code. The Commission has promulgated a host of other rules applicable to the operations of electrical utilities. These other rules may be found at the county law library under the Commission’s state agency designation— Agency 31.
Should you have other questions, please contact me at (208) 334-0312.
Best regards,
Donald L. Howell, II
Deputy Attorney General
