HomeMy WebLinkAbout20120217certificate_no_486.pdfBEFORE THE IDAHO PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMISSION IN THE MATTER OF IDAHO POWER ) COMPANY’S APPLICATION FOR A )CASE NO.IPC-E-09-03 CERTIFICATE OF PUBLIC CONVENIENCE ) AND NECESSITY FOR THE LANGLEY )CERTIFICATE NO.486 GULCH POWER PLANT ) On March 6,2009,Idaho Power Company filed an Application for a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity to construct a new 330 MW natural gas-fired generating plant pursuant to Idaho Code §61-526.The plant is to be constructed on a 137-acre parcel of land on the south side of Interstate 84 in Payette County approximately four miles south of the town of New Plymouth,Idaho. IT IS HEREBY CERTIFIED that the future public convenience and necessity requires and will require Idaho Power Company to construct and subsequently operate a combined-cycle combustion turbine (CCCT)power plant and related interconnection facilities at the Langley Gulch site four miles south of New Plymouth.The Langley Gulch generating plant will be located in Payette County and will be interconnected to the natural gas transmission system.Idaho Power shall operate and maintain the Langley Gulch power plant to furnish electric energy to its customers. THIS CERTIFICATE is predicated upon and issued pursuant to the findings of fact, conclusions of law,and conditions contained in Order No.30892 service dated September 1, 2009,in the above-referenced case.
