Dear Members of the Commission
On behalf of ON Semiconductor-Pocatello, I want to express my concern regarding Idaho Power
customers paying higher electrical rates due to requirements that utility companies purchase
power from alternative-energy producers, especially the wind power industry, at rates
significantly higher than electricity generated from other sources
Idaho is a desirable state for our business due, in part, to one of the lowest industrial electricity
rates in the nation. It is very important that rates remain low for our Idaho business to compete
in the international market
We support the use of renewable energy as long as it is needed, priced fairly, and doesn't
compromise the reliability of the electrical delivery system Like others, our business needs a
reliable system providing low cost electricity. We cannot afford a system or structure that is
unreliable or that provides artificial energy subsidies thus driving up our business expenses and
reducing our competitiveness
