I am writing in response to an enclosure I received from Idaho Power expressing outrage over
that fact that Idaho Power is required to pay millions of dollars for electricity from
crackpot schemes like solar energy, wind power and other forms of 'alternative energy'. Of
course these expenses must ultimately be paid by the customers, such as myself. As I
understand it, Idaho Power is seeking a reduction in what they have to pay for this lunacy. I
fully support their position in this matter. I realize that it is a matter of federal as well
as state law and there is a limit to what you can do for them. But please do what you can.

Thank you for requiring all Idahoans to act like the true conservatives - regardless of
their politics-- and to support renewable energy. There are some people who, despite
centuries of scientific advancement as a civilisation, and who benefit in countless ways from
the advancement of science, today somehow decide that the science of climate change is not
the kind of science they like. It's science! Its data, it's reality, it's our world --
pray for what you want, but at least acknowledge what is in front of us. If people don't
care about the world, they should stop having children. For those of us that do have kids it
is imperative that we leave this earth inhabitable for them, and the most important thing we
are doing for our kids now is trying not to fry the planet. Idaho's renewable standard is an
important step. We need everyone else to join in, because today the current energy policies
worldwide, if implemented, will lead to a 6 degree F change. Deadly. Keep up the
conservative approach to local power for local people who depend on the natural resources of
Idaho for their salaries.

Why do we continue to be so foolish? We all know that the better part of all wind energy is
subsidised by the federal government. These folks have very little at risk, and if they do
not turn a profit, they were using my (our) money i.e. taxes to try to make a profit. The
profit is sure, as we, the consumer pay an unreasonable price per kilowat compared to our own
hydo system. Why do we do and continue to do such things? Are you kidding me,or am I such an
unlearned person to continue to be so gullible?

The Federal requirement that Idaho Power buy electricity from independent producers whether
it is needed or not smacks of a Dictatorship not a Democracy. Besides I suspect that power,
if required, would be quite a bit less if purchased from Bonneville Power. What happened to
willing buyers?
You should ACT on behalf of the power users within our State. An action that makes a lot
more sense then the State rattling sabers over wolves!
