IPUC needs to update how prices are set for alternative energy we are required to buy. The
open market should prevail when it comes to prices for electricity. As a believer in the
free market this is a Federal law costing Idaho Power's customers higher rates. I agree with
ID Power's request for a change in how prices are set for alternative energy. Customers need
fair prices and should not be forced to buy high cost energy even when it is not needed.
I agree with Idaho Power's ability to purchase electricity based on cost, reliability and
environmental considerations.

Forcing consumers to pay for alternative energy that is not needed and increases prices is a
bad policy. I want to add my voice for a policy that makes more sense. Please update the way
prices are calculated for the energy we are required to buy from the alternative energy
project before it gets more out of hand.

I have received a message from Idaho Power complaining that 'Idahoans are required to buy
from wind, solar, and other alternative energy projects.' Idaho Power says some of this
energy is not needed and therefore costs customers for a commodity I disagree with Idaho
Power's position. As responsible consumers of energy we must do everything in our power to
support wind, solar, and other alternative energy projects. Please continue to require that
Idahoans buy from alternative energy sources.
