HomeMy WebLinkAbout20231101Notice_of_Continued_Suspension_Order_No_35983.pdf NOTICE OF CONTINUED SUSPENSION ORDER NO. 35983 1 Office of the Secretary Service Date November 1, 2023 BEFORE THE IDAHO PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMISSION On March 31, 2023, Avista Corporation, d/b/a Avista Utilities (“Avista” or “Company”) applied for authority to modify its annual Power Cost Adjustment mechanism (“PCA”) to account for costs associated with Washington’s Climate Commitment Act (“CCA”) allowances. The Company requested a June 1, 2023, effective date. On April 19, 2023, the Idaho Public Utilities Commission (“Commission”) issued a Notice of Application, Notice of Suspension of Proposed Effective Date, and Notice of Intervention Deadline setting a deadline for interested persons to intervene, and suspending the Company’s effective date until September 1, 2023. On August 30, 2023, the Commission issued a Notice of Continued Suspension suspending the proposed effective date until November 1, 2023. We now issue this Notice of Continued Suspension extending the suspension of the proposed effective date until December 1, 2023. NOTICE OF CONTINUED SUSPENSION YOU ARE HEREBY NOTIFIED that the Commission finds that the Company’s proposed effective date does not provide adequate time to evaluate the Company’s proposal and its impacts on Idaho customers. Pursuant to Idaho Code § 61-622(4), the Commission finds good cause exists to grant additional time to review the Application, and hereby suspends the Company’s proposed effective date until December 1, 2023, unless an order is entered accepting, rejecting, or modifying the Company’s proposal set forth in the Application before then. ORDER IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that the Company’s proposed effective date of June 1, 2023, is suspended until December 1, 2023, unless the Commission enters its order accepting, rejecting, or modifying the Company’s proposal set forth in the Application before then. Generally, all pleadings should be filed with the Commission electronically and will be deemed timely filed when received by the Commission Secretary. See Rule 14.02. Service between parties should continue to be accomplished electronically when possible. However, voluminous discovery-related documents may be filed and served on CD-ROM or a USB flash drive.
