SUBJECT: IN THE MATTER OF AVISTA CORPORATION AND FORD HYDRO’S
JOINT PETITION FOR APPROVAL OF A POWER PURCHASE AND
SALE AGREEMENT; CASE NO. AVU-E-22-07.

On May 11, 2022, Avista Corporation d/b/a Avista Utilities (“Company”) and Ford Hydro
Limited Partnership (“Ford Hydro”) (collectively, “Parties”) petitioned the Commission for
approval of a Power Purchase Agreement (“PPA”) between the Parties concerning the sale of
energy from Ford Hydro’s hydroelectric generating units (“Facility”), as their present PPA expires
on June 30, 2022. The Parties requested that the Application be processed by modified procedure
and the Commission issue an order approving the PPA with an effective date of July 1, 2022.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends the Commission issue a Notice of Application and Notice of Modified
Procedure establishing a July 6, 2022, public comment deadline and a July 13, 2022, Company
reply comment deadline.
