BROOKS DEPUTY ATTORNEY GENERAL DATE: MARCH 29, 2022 SUBJECT: IN THE MATTER OF THE ELECTRIC LINE EXTENSION SCHEDULE 51 ANNUAL RATE ADJUSTMENT FILING OF AVISTA CORPORATION; CASE NO. AVU-E-22-05. On March 11, 2022, Avista Corporation, d/b/a Avista Utilities (“Avista” or “Company”) applied to the Idaho Public Utilities Commission (“Commission”) for approval of its update in costs and its administrative changes to the Company’s Electric Line Extension Schedule 51 (“Schedule 51”). Application at 1. The Company requested its application be processed through modified procedure and take effect May 1, 2022. Id. STAFF RECOMMENDATION Staff recommends the Commission issue a Notice of Application, Notice of Modified Procedure, and Notice of Suspension to suspend the Company’s proposed effective date until June 15, 2022. Staff recommends that the Commission set a public comment deadline of May 18, 2022, and Company reply deadline of May 25, 2022. COMMISSION DECISION Does the Commission wish to issue a Notice of Suspension to suspend the Company’s proposed effective date until June 15, 2022? Does the Commission wish to issue a Notice of Application and Notice of Modified Procedure establishing a public comment deadline of May 18, 2022, and a Company reply deadline of May 25, 2022? ______________________________ Taylor R.
