Dear Idaho Public Utilities Commissioners:
I am a teacher in north Idaho who is teaching fourth grade and preparing to teach my students
about the geography of our area. Inextricable to this work is considering the lake, themountains, and all the ecosystems of our areas. As a teacher who moves with her students, I
remember how the fires of 2017 impacted my class entering first grade, with smoke that droveus indoors and made me think deeply about how the consequences of climate change are
visible for the children I work with.
With that in mind, I am writing to advocate for transitioning away from fossil fuel sources andinstead take the long view for our energy future. The long term consequences of continuing to
use coal and gas are immense and it feels necessary to support projects that draw from cleanenergy sources.
This change takes all of us committing to work on conserving energy, but the utilities that we
draw from make a huge impact compared to individual action. Taking rapid action now givesus the opportunity to shape the future actively for the children in our care.
Thank you for your consideration and action in this important matter.
Regards,
Clare Stansberry PO Box 2652

Dear Idaho Public Utilities Commissioners:
I am an Avista customer and I support clean energy because we need to preserve our planet
and way of life. Our dependence on the corrupt and wasteful fossil fuel industry destroysnations and our own environment. Please take appropriate steps to convert to 100% clean
renewable energy.

Dear Idaho Public Utilities Commissioners:
I have been a long time Avista customer and I support clean energy because it is a critical
thing for us to do to ensure the quality of life many of us living in Idaho greatly value. Moreuse of clean energy sources can help us reduce our impact on the planet by helping reduce
fossil fuel use (especially coal and gas) which have such an impact on climate change. Climatechange is an overwhelming problem, isn't it time we should take a leadership role in bring
more renewable, clean energy sources to Idaho for the sake of our environment and economy.I trust that we Americans are skilled and smart enough to make clean energy both
environmentally and economically advantageous for our great state. We love to fish, ski, hike, and enjoy the outdoors but without protecting our mountain environments from the affects of
climate change we are losing some of these habitats due to increased wildfires and smoke, reduced snowpacks, warming rivers, higher temperatures, and reduced forest health. This is
not the Idaho we have grown to love over the decades. Let's do this Idaho!

Dear Idaho Public Utilities Commissioners:
I am an Avista customer and I support clean energy because continuing to use coal will
promote climate change and we are already feeling the adverse effects of it. Hottest year in thewest so far, rising sea levels, increasing frequency and severity of Forrest fires. And air
pollution which kills. We need to get working on this yesterday, there is no time to lose. Wemust get off coal and on to less expensive and much safer renewable energy sources now.
Close colstrip ASAP.

Dear Idaho Public Utilities Commissioners:
I am an Avista customer and I support clean energy because I have personally viewed the
destruction of oil wells, fracking, and the like across our land. Shameful and adds to thewarming of our planet.
