The number and frequency of hot days, especially in the early fall during elk hunting season is most troubling to me, as the warmer weather makes the processing of elk more difficult. Often it now seems like days in the 70's and 80's are frequent during the early parts of the season. Aditionally, I am very concerned about water temperatures and how war river temps impact the fish. I love to fish, but between the poor salmon and steelhead runs, and warm water temps, it is clear to me that my forfathers and current leaders are not taking good care of this amazing resource that god has given us to steward. Please divest of fossile fuel power generation and do everything you can to support salmon and steelhead runs throughout the Pacific NW. Sincerly, Jeremy Grimm" ------ Name: James Frenzel Email: jim.frenzel@gmail.com Telephone: 208-882-3963 Address: 1774 Lexington Ave Moscow, ID 83843 Name of Utility Company: Avista Case ID: AVU-E-19-01 Comment: "As an Idaho Avista customer, I strongly encourage the Idaho PUC to require Avista to shorten its plan to 100% clean energy and to stop using coal as soon as possible. Thank you." ------ Name: Stephan Flint Email: flint.stephan@gmail.com Telephone: 208-882-8621 Address: 4961 Lenville Rd Moscow, ID 83843-7464 Name of Utility Company: expect to move into Avista territory soon Case ID: AVU-E-19-01 Comment: "I appreciate that Avista is committed to phase out power production from coal and hope it can be done as rapidly as possible. I realize the commission cannot currently include the various external risks from fossil fuel power production in its analysis, but I hope this can change in the near future." ------ From: Martha Lovett <mmlovett3@gmail.com> Sent: Wednesday, August 5, 2020 5:51 PM Subject: Idaho / Avista Public meeting to Push for Green Energy Support Please work to offer Idaho customers the same support for Green Energy that Washington State has, create more local jobs with Green Energy. Fossil Fuels are a dead end, dangerous, polluting, causing tragic Climate Chanege. Avista must take heir head out of the sand and support and promote Green Energy and STOP using fossil Fuels, our very life and world depend on it. The way to do this is to convert our energy production from fossil fuels to clean energy like solar, wind, hydro, geothermal etc. So with this Avista IRP which will extend from 2020 to 2045 it is absolutely essential to plan on achieving 100% clean energy. We will not have another chance. One of the effects of climate change here in the Moscow Idaho area I have really noticed is forest fire smoke from mid-late summer. We know that fire season is greatly extended and the severity of fires has greatly increased, this has resulted in real smoke problems in our region. Both of my kids in the last 10 years were on youth soccer teams with frequent prac" ------ Name: Martha Lovett Email: mmlovett3@gmail.com Telephone: 208-669-2375 Address: 321 N Adams St Moscow, ID 83843 Name of Utility Company: Avista Case ID: AVU-E-19-01 Comment: "Idaho customers must see Avista move from fossil fuels to Green Energy sources. Climate change is killing us with forest fires, destroying whole ecosystems. The only way forward is green energy and Idaho customers demand that Avista give us the same support to use Green Energy that Washington State gets. Climate crisis is upon us, we all must act to support Green Energy now." ------ Name: Pete Robichaud Email: probi@wsu.edu Telephone: 208-882-4318 Address: 321 North Adams St Moscow, ID 83843 Name of Utility Company: Avista Case ID: AVU-E-19-01 Comment: "Please promote alternative energy options for residents of Idaho by providing incentives. Many other states provide incentives to get residents to convert to solar (or wind) energy. Our state should be proactive to promote small users to install PV panels with a buy back model that promotes alternative energy. I have been a satisfied Avista/Washington Water Power customer since the 1980s. I am encouraged by the company's goals of becoming carbon neutral by 2027 and providing 100% clean energy by 2045, but I'd like to see the transition happen faster. My primary concern is climate change—its effects on my own community and ones around the world and the urgency of addressing it promptly to avoid its most devastating consequences. A mild asthma sufferer, I approach this point in our glorious northern Idaho summers with some trepidation because it means fire season is near. Climate change is expected to make our summers even longer and hotter, with increasing wildfire frequency and size and more smoke. I'd like to see Avista get out of carbon-intensive electrical generation from coal on a faster timetable, replacing it with clea" ------ Name: Crissa Butler Email: crissarae@gmail.com Telephone: 208-313-8054 Address: 3232 E Edwards Dr. Idaho Falls, ID 83401 Name of Utility Company: Falls Water Company Case ID: FLS-W-20-03 Comment: "We received a letter from Falls Water that they have applied for a rate increase. In the area that I live, our rates fall under the category of a 23.8% increase. Considering that we have no other options for water— we can’t compare prices and go with a company that offers a lower rate, as well as the fact that we are all experiencing a pandemic which is affecting all of us in one way or another, a significant increase like that seems astronomical, and unacceptable. I know that Falls Water has some of the lowest rates in the area, but believe that the increase being applied for is too steep. I believe a more acceptable rate increase would possibly be more in the range of half of what is being applied for. I hope that my thoughts and concerns are considered in the decision made." ------
