Dear Idaho Public Utilities Commission:
I live in Sagle, ID and Avista is my utility. I’ve been following the IPUC review of Avista’s
2020 Electric Integrated Resource Plan. Because it is such an important topic, I would like to
see you hold a public hearing and accept public testimony.
I know it is harder to have a virtual public meeting, but I think you would gain a better
understanding of Avista customer priorities by having a meeting and not just accepting written
public comments. We are all getting accustomed to virtual meetings and it would give more
people an opportunity to express themselves. Provision of electricity is a key concern for me
because of climate change. Our community needs more contact with IPUC. Avista is a
monopoly and we can’t vote with our money, so we need other avenues to be heard.
Thank you for your time and attention to this important matter. Again, I am requesting the
IPUC hold a virtual public hearing on Avista's 2020 Electric Integrated Resource Plan.
I acknowledge that submitting a comment in an open case constitutes a public record under
Idaho Code § 74-101(13) and all information provided by me in this comment is available for
public and media inspection. My comment may be reviewed by the utility.
Sincerely,
Jean Gerth & Steve Anderson
