I am writingto you since I will not be able to attend the meeting in Boise (we live in Coeurd'Alene).I am in opposition of the take-over of Avista by a Canadian company.The idea ofhavingaforeigncountryinchargeofanyutilitycompanyintheUnitedStatesisoutlandish!The purchase is surely to cause our rates to sky rocket (currently,Idaho is one of ahandfulofstateswhoareblessedbylowelectricrates).The state is not occupied by wealthy
Americans.We make a decent living and any possible increase will surely be a hardship tomanyIdahoans.
I appreciate your time in reading this email,and trust you will do the right thing by keepingAmericanutilitiesownedbyAmericancompanies.

I live in Post Falls,ID so won't make it to your meeting in Boise November 26th,but ISTRONGLYopposetheAvista-Hydro One acquisition!I don't know why you would evenconsidergivingcontrolofourwaterwaystoaforeigncountry;especially one that has a historyofraisingtheratestheirconsumerspay.You can say our rates won't rise for two years (isn't thatwhatitwas?),but what happens after that?The idea of a foreign countryowningpart ofAmericaisappalling!There must be some underhandedsomething in this deal that benefits you,but I feel confident that it won't benefit those of us who have to pay for your services.As far as Iknow,you have gotten nothingbut opposition to this proposal at every meeting you've held onthistopic.We pay for your services,by default,and I think you should take our viewpoints intoconsideration.
My vote would be a resounding NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
