Subject: Avista Sale
We are writing to oppose the sale of Avista Corp to HydroOne of Ontario Canada. There
is no way for us to see any benefit to we consumers and stockholders of Avista.
HydroOne is big into solar and wind generation; both very expensive to install and
maintain. This is the way for them to buy cheaper hydropower here. They will almost
certainly want to transmit our power to their system. God Forbid we take their very
expenive product. Further, we don't believe that their assurances are worth the breath
it took to utter them.
A further concern is the very real possibility that a Chinese company will buy
HydroOne. The thought of buying our power and natural gas from the Chinese is
appalling.
In our international travels, we've met many foreigners, some of which are from Canada
and even a couple from Ontario province....and they tell us their power is very expensive
and the service from HydroOne is terrible. I do not understand how there is the
slightest benefit to us as present Avista customers, and I can see great potential
downside.
PLEASE reject this sale!
