The HydroOne/Avista proposed merger will not be good for Idaho or the Region.Instead of profits being used locally they will only enrich a Canadianprovince. Not all Avista shareholders have been local, but many have been and that has been a benefit to the area.HydroOne was created because the province was having issues and losing money.HydroOne has not existed in it's current form (of which it is still not separate from the Canadianprovince)for long enough to know what will happen.Losing local investment opportunities and some local control (more than just the Northwest regions PUCs)cannot be good. The money promised to help low income is not a kindness of the energy company and is funded in part if not wholly by customers electing to give of their own funds towards that goal. The gift to ratepayers though sounds big in the total is very miserly when the math is done to spread it to every customer and it is spread over many years,it's less than many could find in change that falls behind the cushions or near sidewalks. It is also very disturbing that shareholders did not get information first and then even with the ads, news stories and investor information they have made it sound like a done deal from the very beginning.I hope the PUCs do their own due diligence and question the proposal and do not just sign away thinkingthat this is the best for all. The energy companies in USA should never be owned by foreign countries,as these are vital to The well being of our citizens and country. Just look at the downfall of Montana Power company about 25-years ago and that was due to Mismanagement by another US company. The Public Service Utilities Commission is the Governing body to ensure the best interests of both the company &customers. Therefore,I ask for your support to keep the ownership of AVISTA in United States. Thank you, John Howard Osburn,Idaho Ü E Virus-free.www.avast.com 1
