Comment:Avista is asking that ratepayers pay through their rates for updating the Colstrip utility.I strongly oppose this
action.It is time for that coal burning utilityto be phased out,not remade to send more carbon into the atmosphere.
It appears as if,by granting this request,Idaho Avista customers would end up holding the bag,as the other partnering
utilities make plans to phase out their participation.
The PUC needs to insist that Avista plan appropriatelyfor the future with more efficient and enviroinmentally worthy
equipment.I would not oppose asking ratepayers to participate in paying for such necessary replacement equipment.
Colstrip has long been an embarrassment.To give Avista a green light to makeover such an outdated facility would be
like giving them a future black eye.Please help direct Avista to do the right thing.
