Complaint:Avista Rate Increase.
I strongly oppose any rate increase above the government specified inflation rate as used to calculate social security.
Our electrical rates are already a very serious burden on the majority of the citizens of North Idaho.With natural gas
prices at historical lows and electrical generation costs running low for Avista,there is no need for any rate increase
after the previous increases,especially in view of the potential sale to the Canadian company.If Avista is looking to
improve margins have them look at their legacy and current pension,salary and healthcare programs.Very few of us
have these lavish benefits and yet we are forced to support them through their mandated rates.We need more
alternatives for power delivery in this area and need to open it up for competition.
