An increase such as this does not appear to be a huge impact until you apply it to the millions of customers as a whole. A vista is a corporation that strives for profit, pays their executives millions of dollars and other employees very well. An increase to infrastructure repairs and updates is considered a part of doing business. Some of the earnings for a profit based business typically goes back into the business itself. The excuse that this is for infrastructure updates seems to be an excuse for increase in profit and salaries. If my small business needs repairs I don't get someone else to pay for it. It is my responsibility and not the customers. I can pass it on to the customers at the risk of having them go elsewhere. In this case I do not have an option and they know it. This is where I need to rely on your good sense and integrity. Recently, I purchased a home which I have never done in my life time (59 years old) because as a single person, without two incomes it is difficult to make ends meet. I save everywhere I can and reduce my expenditures across the board and now I have to tighten my belt even more because Avista isn't satisfied with the millions it brings in and the enormous salaries it pays its employees. It is comforting to know that they care little about me freezing in my home this winter as long they satisfy their greed for more. If A vista wants to improve infrastructure so they can make more money let them take it out of the millions in profits already earned. Please do not let this go through. 1 Sincerely, Eric Swanbeck Eric Swanbeck Veteran Services Coordinator St. Vincent de Paul eric@stvincentdepaulcda.org 208-664-3095, Ext. 314 2 Jean Jewell From: Sent: To: Subject: Name: Gary Anderson Case Number: AVU-E-16-03 Email: garander@gmail.com Telephone: 2089560448 Address: 11938 Ruby Dr. Haydenld,83835 Name of Utility Company: AVISTA garander@gmail.com Wednesday, October 26, 2016 1:35 PM Beverly Barker; Jean Jewell; Gene Fadness Case Comment Form: Gary Anderson Comment: HERE WE GO AGAIN, JUST LIKE CLOCK WORK. AVISTA IS ASKING THE COMMISSION FOR ANOTHER RAISE IN RATES AND WILL THE COMMISSION ROLL OVER AND GIVE AVISTA THEIR THE USUAL ONE HALF OF WHAT AVISTA ASKED FOR? WHAT REALLY GALLS ME IS THEY ALSO WANT A 50 CENT RAISE ON THE BASIC CHARGE OF 5.25 TO 5.75. THEY GOT A RAISE THIS PAST YEAR ... DO THE MATH: AVISTA, ACCORDING TO THE CDA PRESS, OCT.2STH ISSUE, HAS 128,200 ELECTRIC CUSTOMERS IN IDAHO, 128,200 X 5.25$,= $673,050.00 PER MONTH! 12 MONTHS=$ 8,076,600.00 PER YEAR, A RAISE OF .SO CENTS WILL BRING THE YEARLY TALLY TO$ 8,845,800.00 FOR WHICH THE CUSTOMER DOES NOT GET ANY VALUE IN KILOWATIS USAGE. I WOULD THINK THAT MOST POWER GENERATED BY THE PALOUSE WIND PROJECT, WILL NOT BE SENT TO IDAHO, BUT USED FOR THE WASHINGTON GRID. Unique Identifier: 98.145.76.76 1
