PUBLIC WORKSHOPS
On May 26, 2016, A vista Corporation dba A vista Utilities filed an Application
seeking authority to increase its electric base rates by $15.4 million (6.3%) in Idaho. The
Company says its average residential customer would experience an electric bill increase of
$6.54 (7.7%) per monthly bill. Avista requests an effective date of June 26, 2016, but requests
that date be suspended until January 1, 2017, for its proposed increase to take effect.
On June 7, 2016, the Commission issued a Notice of Application and Notice of
Intervention Deadline. Order No. 33536. The following parties intervened in the case:
Clearwater Paper Corporation; Idaho Forest Group, LLC; Snake River Alliance; and Community
Action Partnership Association of Idaho. The Commission issued a Notice of Schedule on July
15, 2016, that set deadlines for the parties to file testimony and exhibits, and scheduled a
December 2, 2016, technical evidentiary hearing.
NOTICE OF PUBLIC WORKSHOPS
YOU ARE HEREBY NOTIFIED that the Commission will hold two public
workshops for A vista customers. The purpose of the workshops is to provide customers with an
overview of the Company's Application and to dispense information. At these meetings,
customers will have an opportunity to ask questions of Staff regarding the Application and how
customers may further participate in the proceeding. Company representatives may be available.
YOU ARE FURTHER NOTIFIED that the first workshop will occur on
WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 21, 2016, AT 7:00 PM (PDT), IN THE FISKE ROOM OF
THE 1912 CENTER, 412 E. THIRD STREET, MOSCOW, IDAHO.
YOU ARE FURTHER NOTIFIED that the second workshop will occur on
THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 22, 2016, AT 6:30 PM (PDT), IN THE GOZZER ROOM OF
THE COEUR d' ALENE PUBLIC LIBRARY, 702 E. FRONT AVENUE, COEUR
d' ALENE, IDAHO.

YOU ARE FURTHER NOTIFIED that the Application may be viewed on the
Commission's web site, www.puc.idaho.gov, by clicking on "File Room" and then "Electric
Cases," under the above-captioned case number. It also can be viewed during regular business
hours at the Idaho Public Utilities Commission, 472 W. Washington Street, Boise, Idaho.
YOU ARE FURTHER NOTIFIED that all workshops and hearings in this matter
will be held in facilities meeting the accessibility requirements of the Americans with
Disabilities Act (ADA). Persons needing the help of a sign language interpreter or other
assistance in order to participate in or to understand testimony and argument at a public hearing
may ask the Commission to provide a sign language interpreter or other assistance at the hearing.
