Comment:I have two Idaho properties that are serviced by Avista,and have read newspaper
articles about Avistas request to add a ‘surcharge”and raise rates.We,as consumers,have
to conserve money and cut spending --not just because of more energy-efficient appliances,
but because we can’t afford all these increases.Companies should also do the same.Big
bonuses paid to Avista executives should cease in this economy.If Avista “over-recovers
loses,they’ll refund money”???Really?I’ve never known that to happen!The 5.2%and 5.1%
electric rate increase in 2016 and 2017,and a 4.5%and 2.2%gas rate increase is ridiculous.
Plus a •‘fixed cost adjustment”?I don’t seem to be getting that much of a salary increase in
the next two years.I certainly hope you think hard and fast about this request before you
make your decision.
