We just received notice from Avista that they are seeking a 14.5% increase for residential
customers to pay for infrastructure improvements. Wi thin the last two weeks, a press release
cited record earnings for Avista.
In an economy that is faltering at best, how and why is it OK for Avista to award it' s
management team and the stockholders huge dividends and bonuses from their operating profits
instead of re- investing those profits like a private company does?
To say the least, this household is not in favor of granting them the increase - they need to
li ve within their budget the same as the rest of us.
