I would like to voice my strong disapproval for Avista' s most recently proposed rate
increase for electric and gas customers in northern Idaho. I have been an Avista/WWP customer
for over ten years and have steadily watched my rates go up at least every other year. The
last 3-4 years it seems they ask and are granted a yearly increase. Aside from changing out
my meter two years ago (which added a monthly cost to my bill), their service has not
improved nor have they upgraded any of their services to the rurual part of SW Bonner County
where I live. As our country is wallowing in the midst of a nasty economic downturn and most
families are struggling, this seems like a horrible time for a utility to be jacking up their
rates.
I am asking the IPUC to deny Avista' s current electric and gas rate increases for 2009-10 and
make every attempt to have Avista and BPA work to agree to restore Idaho' s portion of the
power generated on the Columbia River. Thank you.

i have lived in this area for 23 years, and i' ve never had a bill that is 205.87 for one
months service. are you guys just wanting to get rich off of your customers? why did we get
an 18% increase in our monthly bill? we live in a trailer park, and you guys use the excuse
that our insulation is poor, and heat escapes easier. sounds like your trying to excuse

him way too much for his electrigi ty j for me its gas. give us a break please.

We object to the proposed rate increase by Avista. The rate that we are charged per kwh has
increased 40% in less than 3 years.
Now they want MORE. NO. We say enough is enough. The price of coal is down not up, and God
has not caused the rivers to dry up.
I do not think they use natural gas or oil but even if they do, the price of both is DOWN.
This proposed increase is WRONG and should not be allowed.
