#2 Before you allow Avista the increase in rates for which they are asking, find out how
mucn the CEO is making a year , if he has a golden parachute, how much his retirement is made-
up of items that would cause the amount to require an increase in rates.
You know , it doesn i t seem like we can win...
a. If we conserve, they want to raise the rates because they don't have enough revenue
coming into their coffers;
b. If we don i t conserve, they want to raise the rates because they have to purchase power
from outside our . grid i
I hope you are taking all of this into consideration. Keep their feet to the fire and don i t
let them get away with screwing us. After all, the water that runs through the dam here in
Post Falls is our and they should be thankful we are letting them use it.

Since Avista has had 2 rate increases in the past year and has applied for another, I
request that all the salaries for all board members and upper level management be reviewed
and made public. I also ask that any increases in salaries and/or bonuses be included and the
dates those increases occurred. Since I am paying for these things, (along with other low to
medium income households) it seems reasonable to know where the ¡money is going, specifically.

i do NOT support Avist Utilities raising their rate for the 2nd time in a year. Look at what
is going on in our communities and country. People are loosing their jobs, their houses, and
can not take another hit from a company that can take lower profits until our local economies
recover. Do this and the State will see more revenue shortfalls with people that cant pay
taxes. The montly expenses are going up everywere. Please stop Avista from rapeing our
communities again.
