No to a rate increase!! The Washington/Idaho State runs right up our property line. Just
across the line sit the PUD folks of Pend Oreille County whose rates are far, far, far
lower, yet they get better response to service issues. Example: Over a year ago, Avista
(at our request), marked a tree on our property to remove because it was hazardous.
Because they never showed up as promised to remove the tree, a recent wind storm blew the
rotten tree over & it took 4 others with it across a county road & resulted in over $1,000worth of clean-up costs to us. Avista profits are high enough and they should absorb any
increases until the water flows again from the sky. Surely, they are not going to be
willing to lower the rates once water flows are normal so they shouldn t have the increase
to begin with. Those of us who are retired have a hard time affording their already highrates.

I SEE IN THE PAPER THAT AVISTA IS LOOKING FOR ANOTHER RATE HIKE, IT DOESNT SUPRISE ME,
BUT IT SHUR MAKES ME UPSET. IT SAYS THAT THE AVERAGE HOME PAYS $70.42 A MONTH. THIS IS
VERY INTERESTING. MY HOME IS ABOUT 1000 SQ. FEET. I DONT HEAT THE BASEMENT. MY UTILITY BILL
IS ON THE PAY THE SAME EACH MONTH AND I PAY 165.00 A MONTH. I HAVE R30 OR BETTER IN THE
ATICK AND HADE VINAL SIDEING PUT ON WITH A FaME LAYER UNDER IT. I GUES AN AVERAGE HOME MUST
BE ABOUT 400 SQ. FT. TO ONLY PAY 70 BUCKS. AVIST IS THE WORST THING TAT EVER HAPENED TO OUR
AREA. IHAVE LIVED IN THE COEURDALEN, SPOAKANE AREA MY WHOLE LIFE SO I REMEMBE WWP. I GUES
