Please describe your question or comment briefly:
I do not believe that Avista should be granted an extension of the monthly surcharge
which is due to expire June 30. And I certainly do not think they should be granted anincrease. I read the articles regarding the bonuses their top executives received and if
Avista needs better cash flow, they should look in-house, not to consumers.
Thank you.

Please describe your question or comment briefly:
I received my bill and the Avista news letter telling me that they are going for another
rate increase for electricity. I am opposed to the increase as Avista has increased ratesfi ve or six times over the past few years. I understand the increased cost of doing things
but if I did this in my business I would be out of business and since this is a needed
product I believe they are taking advantage of this. I have spent thousands of dollars to
increase the efficiency of my home but was told by Avista that this would not decrease the
amount of my bill as they were going to make the same amount of money no matter what
anyone did but that my cause should be one for the enviroment not to save money. I believe
that they have not managed the electricity as well as they could have, ie. selling off
excess to other states then purchasing power from other states to supply us. It just makes
no sense no matter what their bragging of taking care of the enviroment commercials say. I
believe we are living in a time when large corporations frame of mind are if they will pay
it we will charge it.... and that is just not right.
A concerned citizen
