Comment description: I am writing to oppose the requested 1.9% rate increase that Avistahas submitted. They just received a rate increase of a substantial nature last year.
Their proposal to offset the increase with a reduction in the Power Cost Adj ustment
duplici tous in that they are trying to trade a temporary cash flow for a permanent one.Their ' statement that this will result in no net increase to the customers is equally
misleading because if a person uses enough electricity to have a bill of $100 adding 4.4 %
PCA yields 104.40. If rates go up 1.9 % and the PCA is allowed to go to 2.5% the result
is $101.9 times 2.5% which yields 104.45. Only a nickel but misleading nevertheless.
Please send a message to Avista that they need to get their act together and stop the
constant barrage of increases to cover their poor operating and management practices.
