The last issue suggested swi tching from electricty gas and even promised a rebate to customers who did so. The other issue (July) promotedthe use of outdoor gas-fired fire pits and gas patio heaters. This demonstrates corporate arrogance and irresponsibili ty at this time of looming gasshortages and likely price increases. The fact that they are currently asking for anextension of the surcharge to help cover their expenses for the excessive costs of gassupplies a couple years ago just adds to their apparent lack of common sense.Until Avista can demonstrate that it is working hard to promote conservation and alsoto reduce it's own costs I believe that their request for an extension of the surcharge should be denied. A company that promotes waste should not be rewarded by the IUPC at the expense of it's customers. Transaction ID: 9171518.
