AVISTA REBATE PROGRAMS

Program Eligibility and Guidelines
Rebates are available for residential energy efficiency measures completed after
June 30, 2002. Offers apply to residential homeowners. The home does not need to be owner- occupied
to qualify; however, renters do not qualify to receive rebates.

Natural Gas Furnace/Boiler Rebates
$200 rebate to homeowners who install a high-efficiency gas furnace of 90% AFUE or greater, or
a high-efficient Natural Gas Boiler of 85% AFUE.
Applicable to existing single- and multi-family residences (up to a fourplex), including
manufactured, modular and new-construction homes. (Primary residences only, excluding vacation
homes.)

Heat Pump Rebates
$300 rebate to homeowners whose primary heat source is electric heat and who install an Air-
Source Heat Pump of 8.0 HSPF (heating efficiency) with 13.0 SEER (cooling efficiency) or greater.
Replacement of an existing heat pump qualifies for a $50 rebate.
Applicable to existing single and multi-family residences (up to a fourplex), including
manufactured, modular and new-construction homes.

Thermostat Rebates
Up to $40.00 rebate to homeowners with manual thermostats who install a Programmable
Thermostat, with a minimum of four separate/discrete time programs per day capability. Either 7-day or
5/2-day programming is allowed. (Rebate cannot exceed 50% of the actual cost).
Applicable to existing single- and multi-family residences (up to a fourplex), including
manufactured, modular and new-construction homes.

Weatherization Rebates
Attic, Floor, and Wall Insulation: A rebate of 12 cents per square foot for the addition of new
insulation installed increasing the R-value by R-10 or greater. Rebates not available if existing insulation
exceeds R-22 for attic, R-11 for walls and/or R-11 in floors.
Duct Insulation: A rebate of 75 cents per linear foot of R-11 insulation for customers installing
insulation on heating ducts in unconditioned areas.
Blown Wall Insulation: A rebate of 12 cents per square foot for blown-in wall insulation
applications. (Same R-values stated above.)
Applicable to existing single- and multi-family residences (up to a fourplex) includes
manufactured and modular homes. Does not apply to new construction or non-living areas such as
garages. (Please see the current Avista rebate program brochure for additional information).

High Efficiency Water Heater Rebates
$50.00 rebates to homeowners who install either high-efficiency electric or natural gas water
heaters (storage tank type). Electric heaters must be 0.91 EF or greater, natural gas heaters must be 0.62
EF for 40-gallon and 0.60 for 50-gallon heaters.
Applicable to existing singe- and multi-family residences (up to a fourplex), including
manufactured, modular and new construction. Can be claimed in addition to the electric to natural gas
water heater rebate.

Electric to Natural Gas - Water Heater Rebates
A $150.00 rebate to Avista electric customers who replace an electric water heater with a new
Natural Gas Water Heater (storage tank type). Does not apply to new construction.
