Chinden Blvd. Bldg. 8, Ste. 201 -A Boise,Idaho 83714 RE: Avista Utilities 2020 Annual Report on Optional Alternative Renewable Energy DearMs. Noriyuki: Pursuant to Order No. 28948 in Case No. AVU-E-01-16, enclosed for filing is Avista Corporation's dba Avista Utilities ("Avista" or "the Company") report on alternative enerry resources offered as options to customers in 2020 under Schedule 95-{ptional Renewable Power Rate. Avista Utilities' voluntary program, marketed as the "Buck-A-BloclC'progranr" for renewable resources was initiated on February 1,2002 and renamed to *My Clean Energy" through Order 34566,approvd by the Commissionon I\4arch 2,d,2020. The My Clean Enerry program is available to all residential and commercial electric customers in both Idaho and Washington The voluntaryprogram offers a National Block Option for 300 kWh at $ 1.00 each where Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) are sourcod nationally for a more economic customer option The Company is now offering a Regional Block Option for 100 kWh at $ I .00 each; RECs for the regional option are sourced from within the Northwest. Customers may purchase as manyblocks as they would like, which theythen pay for in addition to their regular monthly bill. Customers subscribe on a monthly basis and can cancel and re- subscribeatanytimebyeitherphone,theCompany'swebsite,orbillinserts.Avista purchases and retires renewable enerry certificates to supply the program. Attachment A shows the rate of customer participation for each block optiorl ttre amourt of qualified renewable enerry resources purchased by customers and the amount of utility investnents in qualifiedrenewable energy resources. With the Commission approval ofthe new product option on March 2"d,2020,Idaho block purchases for January 1 through February 28 are accounted for in the Regional block option and were sold under the original rate of 3 00 kWh p er $ I and regional RECs were procured.
