NEWS RELEASE: Commission to hold a show cause hearing for Atlanta Power
BOISE (Feb. 2, 2022) - The Idaho Public Utilities Commission will hold a show cause hearing on
February 23,2022, commencingatz:0O p.m. in the Commission Hearing Room, I1331 W. Chinden
Blvd., Building 8, Suite 201-A, Boise, Idaho.
Atlanta Power Company, Inc., a private utility, providing electric seruices to customers in Atlanta,
Idaho has been ordered to appear before the Commission due to several customer complaints. The
purpose for the hearing can be found in CeseNn ATI -tr-??-Ol OrderNn 151O?
The Commission has ordered Atlanta Power to appear before the Commission and show cause why the
Commission should not (1) reimpose penalties on the Company resulting from a previous case, (2)
impose new penalties on the Company for new and continuing violations and (3) open a new
investigation into whether the Company is providing safe and adequate service to its customers.
No public testimony will be taken at the hearing and only the individual(s) summoned will
present information to the Commission. The Commission may question those individuals. No
cross examination by any of the parties in the case will occur.
