RURAL TELEPHONE COMPANY UPDATING ITS TARIFFS TO
REFLECT THE NEW COMPANY NAME. TARIFF ADVICE NO. 10-03.
BACKGROUND
On July 23, 2010, Attorneys for Rural Telephone Company submitted a request to change
the Company s name from Rural Telephone Company to Rural Telephone Company, dba RTI.
On July 28 , 2010, Rural Telephone Company s consultant submitted amended tariffs to
reflect the name change.
DISCUSSION
The name change that the Company is seeking has been registered with the Secretary of
State and satisfies the Commission s requirement for the registration of the assumed business
name.
In its letter submitted with the revised tariffs, the Company states that the filing is

only
adding to the Rural Telephone Company name, the dba of "RTI", and no rates, terms or conditions
were changed.
STAFF ANALYSIS
Staff has reviewed the request to change the company name and verified that all rates
terms and conditions have not changed. The Company proposes an effective date of September 1

2010, and its filed tariffs reflect that effective date. Under the Commission s rules it is not
necessary for approval and in doing nothing the tariffs will become effective on the requested date.
ST AFF RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the Commission allow the tariffs to become effective September 1
2010, without further action. Does the Commission agree?
