SUBJECT: IN THE MATTER OF THE INVESTIGATION OF ATLANTA POWER
COMPANY SDRVICE AND CUSTOMER RELATIONS;

On March 14,2018, Staff was notified by two non-resident Atlanta Power customers
that there is a service line on the ground. The customers expressed concern &at the power line
poses a danger to anyone that may come into contact with the line.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Staff conferred with local Atlanta residents, who confirmed that the line is not
overhead, but that it's buried in the snow, in an inaccessible area off an unplowed road. They
further remarked that the line is not grounding out and not believed by the local residenG to pose
an imminent danger. Pursuant to ldaho Code $ 6l-515 [Safety RegulationsJ, Staff recommends
that the Commission issue an Order requiring that the Company repair the downed line. Staff
further recommends that the ongoing investigation be expanded to include an investigation into
safety of company facilities.
COMMISSION DECISION
Does the Commission wish to issue an Order requiring the Company to repair the
downed power line and expand the open investigation into safety issues?
