Please describe your comment briefly:
Yesterday with my power bill, I received a notice from Atlanta Power Co. of a pending
application with the Commission seeking a huge increase in . basic electric revenues,'
including both an emergency surcharge and a rate increase. As a full-time resident of
Atlanta I am amazed at the audacity of Atlanta Power Co. in seeking such a unreasonable
increase since we already pay perhaps the highest rate for electricity of any locality in thecontinental U.S. ,
I am asking the Commission to host a public hearing in Atlanta to hear the concerns of its
residents before acting upon the Company's request.
I also appeal to the Commission to take a practical and reasonable approach when considering
any application that may result in an increase in electrical costs to the residents of
Atlanta.
