RE:TARIFF ADVICE NO.23-01 REVISIONS TO SCHEDULE NO.35,
SCHEDULE NO.35A,AND SCHEDULE NO.36
BACKGROUND
On January 18,2023,Rocky Mountain Power,a division of PacifiCorp (the "Company"),
submitted revisions to Schedule No.35,Schedule No.35A,and Schedule No.36 to remove the
Daylight Saving Time ("DST")adjustment from the second Sunday in March to the first Sunday
in April and from the last Sunday in October to the first Sunday in November. The Company
requests that the revisions be approved by the Commission with an effective date of February 17,
2023.
STAFF ANALYSIS
Staff believes that the tariff language contained in Company Schedule No.35,Schedule
No.35A,and Schedule No.36 notifying customers of adjustments the Company makes for
expanded DST time periods for purposes of billingare no longer needed.
To reflect the expansions of the DST period adopted under Section 110 of the U.S.Energy
Policy Act of 2005,the Company has made one-hour adjustments for the periods between the
second Sunday in March to the first Sunday in April and from the last Sunday in October to the
first Sunday in November. However, these one-hour adjustments are no longer needed because of
the advanced metering infrastructure ("AMI")technology implemented for the customers under
these schedules because the new meters reflect the timeframes adopted under the U.S.Energy
Policy Act of 2005.
