RE:CENTURYTEL OF THE GEM STATE'S FILING TO ESTABLISH AN
EXEMPTION FOR CERTAIN SERVICE CHARGES FOR ACTIVE DUTY
U. S. MILITARY; ADVICE NO. 10-02.
On March 12 2010, CenturyTel of the Gem State, Inc. dba CenturyLink ("Century Link"
filed Tariff Advice No.02. This filing establishes an exemption for active duty members of
the United States military and their dependents with valid military identification cards. All
service charges typically applicable to central office reconnects will be waived when establishing
local exchange access line service or transferring existing local exchange access line service
from one location to another. The filing defines central office reconnects as customer requests
for service that do not require any physical work beyond the Company s central office.
Century Link provided a separate document outlining the revenue impact associated with
this filing. The Company requests an effective date of April 12, 2010.
ST AFF ANALYSIS
Staff has reviewed the filing and the supporting revenue information provided by
CenturyLink. Staff believes the revenue impact of this filing is de minimis. Staff, therefore
recommends approval of Century Link's Tariff Advice No. 10-02.
