SUBJECT: IN THE MATTER OF IDAHO POWER COMPANY’S APPLICATION FOR
AN ACCOUNTING ORDER AUTHORIZING THE DEFERRAL OF
INCREMENTAL WILDFIRE MITIGATION AND INSURANCE COSTS;
CASE NO. IPC-E-21-02

On January 22, 2021, Idaho Power Company (“Company”) filed an Application for an
accounting order authorizing it to defer Idaho’s jurisdictional share of incremental costs associated
with its wildfire mitigation and insurance costs. The Application includes a comprehensive overview
of the Company’s efforts to assess wildfire risk, discussion of necessary actions and measures to
mitigate wildfire risk, and identification and examination of incremental operations and maintenance
costs associated with implementing and completing wildfire mitigation efforts.1 The Company
requests its Application be processed by Modified Procedure.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends the Commission issue a Notice of Application and Notice of Modified
Procedure, setting an April 8, 2021 public comment deadline and an April 22, 2021 Company reply
comment deadline.
