SUBJECT: IN THE MATTER OF INTERMOUNTAIN GAS COMPANY’S
APPLICATION FOR DETERMINATION OF 20 19 ENERGY
EFFICIENCY EXPENSES AS PRUDENTLY INCURRED ; CASE NO. INT-
G-20-06

On September 1, 2020, Intermountain Gas Company (“Company”) applied to the
Commission for an order designating expenses associated with its 201 9 residential Energy
Efficiency Program (“EE Program”) as prudently incurred. Intermountain Gas requests that its
application be processed under Modified Procedure.
BACKGROUND
In Case No . INT-G-17-03, the Compan y received the Commission’s authority to
implement: 1) Rate Schedule EE—Residential Energy Efficiency Rebate Program, outlining the
offerings of the EE Program; and 2) Rate Schedule EEC —Energy Efficiency Charge (“EE
Charge”), establishing a per therm charge to fund the EE Program. See Order No. 33888;
Application at 4 . The EE Program is funded through collection from customers via the EE Charge
of $0.0 2093 per therm. Application at 6 .
2019 EE Program Expenses
The Company asks the Commission to find the Company prudently incurred
$2,803,346 in EE Program expenses during 2019. Id at 11. Of these expenses, $2,054,550, or 73%,
was spent on rebates paid directly to customers. Id. at 6 . The remaining $748,796 was incurred for
labor, program delivery, conservation potential assessment , and market transformation. Id . at 7.
The EE Charge revenue for 2019 was $2,671,829 . Id . at 6 . The Company states that it does not
plan to file for an adjustment to the EE Charge in 2020. Id. at 7.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the Commission issue a Notice of Application and Notice of
Intervention Deadline, setting a 21 -day deadline for interested persons to intervene.
