SUBJECT: IN THE MATTER OF AVISTA’S 2020 ELECTRIC INTEGRATED
RESOURCE PLAN; CASE NO. AVU-E-19-01.

On February 28, 2020, Avista Corporation (“Avista”) filed its amended 2019/2020
Electric Integrated Resource Plan (“2020 Electric IRP”).
On March 25, 2020, the Commission issued a Notice of 2020 Electric Integrated
Resource Plan and Notice of Intervention Deadline. Order No. 34609.
Idaho Conservation League (“ICL”), Avista, and Commission Staff are parties to the
case.
Following the intervention deadline, Staff informally conferred with the parties
regarding a procedure and schedule for the case. The parties propose the case be processed by
Modified Procedure with a comment deadline of August 9, 2020, and a reply comment deadline
of September 2, 2020.
The Commission received comments requesting a public hearing in North Idaho from
ICL, Idaho Forest Group, the City of Sandpoint, and small business owners in Sandpoint. Staff
intends to hold a virtual workshop in early-to-mid July, most likely using the Zoom platform. Staff
believes the virtual workshop format will allow Staff to present information to customers and
receive comments and questions from customers similar to an in-person workshop.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends the Commission issue a Notice of Modified Procedure establishing
a comment deadline of August 9, 2020, and a reply comment deadline of September 2, 2020.
