RE:CANCELLATION OF CERTIFICATE NO.519 IN CASE NO.
TAL-T-14-01 FOR TALK AMERICA SERVICES,LLC.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
On July 15,2019,the Commission received a letter asking that Talk America Services,
LLC.,be allowed to cancel its Certificate No.519 issued in TAL-T-14-01.See Order No.
33296.The Company states that effective September 1,2019,it proposes to cease providing
service in Idaho as well as nine other states.The Company also included a customer notice that
was issued on July 15,2019,with the explanation that the service will be discontinued
September 1,2019.Staff contacted the Company and was told that they currentlyhave 135
customers who subscribe to various bundled services.
STAFF REVIEW AND RECOMMENDATION
Staff has reviewed the request and believes that the Company has given adequate
notification to consumers and recommends that the certificate be cancelled effective
September 1,2019.Does the Commission agree?
